Attractive deep red colour. A complex nosewith spicy aromas of cinnamon, coriander andcloves underlined by black fruit notesfrom the Syrah. This wine has a juicy mouthfeel, supported by mature, soft tannins.

Vinification
Hand picked in the cool of the night to retain freshness and flavours. 56 Hours cold maceration (10°C) prior tofermentation. Extended skin contact after fermentation of 14days. MLF took place in barrels. Matured for 20 months in 40% new, 30% 2nd fill and 30% 3rd fill 300 litre French oakbarrels. All components were matured separately before blending

Release date
Elegance, finesse and concentrated fruit reflecting the truecharacter of the cultivar from our soils are the hallmarks of Rijk’s Estate wines. This wine was aged in the bottle for 14 months. After many tastings and discussions it was onlyreleased in December 2009.
