Tasting notes
Intense deep red colour. The nose explodeswith aromas of coriander, baked friut andcloves. The wine’s broad mouth feel is keptfresh by lively acidity with  refined tannins. Asubtle use of oak compliments its natural characteristics.

Vinification & Maturation details
Hand picked in the cool of the night to retain freshness and flavours. 56 hours cold maceration (10°C) prior to fermentation. Extended skin contact after fermentation of 14 days. MLF took place in barrels. Matured for 20 months in 40% new, 40% 2nd fill and 20% 3rd fill 300 litre French oak barrels.

Release date
Elegance, finesse and concentrated fruit reflecting the truecharacter of the cultivar from our soils are the hallmarks ofRijk’s Estate wines. This wine was aged in the bottle for 14 months.After many tastings and discussions it was only released in December 2009
