Tasting notes
Dark ruby red colour. Spicy nose with hints of lavender, cinnamon, coriander and red berries in the background. Aromas carry through on a rich, velvety palate which ends with a fine tannin structure.

Decanting & Serving temperature    
To release all flavours and to allow to breathe, please decant 1 hour before consumption. Recommended to be served at optimal temperature of 17 ºC

Vinification & Maturation details

Hand picked in the cool of the night to retain freshness and flavours. 48 hours cold maceration (10ºC) prior to fermentation. MLF took place in barrels, after which these 3 varieties were blended and matured for 20 months in 33% New and 67% 2nd fill French Oak barrels.

Release date
Elegance, finesse and concentrated fruit reflecting the truecharacter of the cultivar from our soils are the hallmarks of Rijk’s Private Cellar wines. This wine was aged in the bottle for 2years and 7 months. After many tastings and discussions it wasonly released in September 2010
